Speech Language Pathology
A proactive, comprehensive program of guidance and re-education is established for any patient who demonstrates deficits in the areas of speech, cognitive, and communication as well as swallowing impairments to enhance patient quality of life.
Speech language pathologists are responsible for the evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders (dysphagia), speech and language. They provide intervention for patients who have communication difficulties, cognitive loss and swallowing problems. Upon discharge from therapy, restorative programs are established with the nursing staff or family members to ensure continuity of quality care.
